Mobil – Beryl Alpha Platform

This innovative 35 tonne LER contained switchgear, transformers and associated control components and was an integral part of an offshore Glycol Regeneration Package. Utilising lightweight H60 stainless steel panels coupled with stringent weight control procedures, the target finished weight was significantly bettered.

The HVAC plant consisted of a roof mounted air handling unit having duty and stand-by fans each of 100% capacity. In addition, an air conditioning unit provided cooling to the LER via evaporators mounted internally, the associated compressors and condensers having 60% capacity operating on a ‘lead-lag’ basis.

Maximum pre-commissioning was carried out at Vertec’s Aberdeen facility enabling the LER to be rapidly hooked-up offshore.
